11.       Ben gives Willy regret for not leaving when he had the chance to go to Alaska as a young boy. He gives Willy the hope that the dream he so wants is attainable because all Ben did was walk into the African jungle and came out a millionaire. His influence throughout the play fuels Willy’s concept that there’s still a chance to make it big. The way Ben has achieved wealth is not as probable as Willy makes it out to be, it sure is impressive but is a slim chance for the common man. Because Willy is so bent on getting rich quick and easy like his brother his ideals are warped on what is possible for himself.
